Mt Ruapehu Camp

Hi Bloggers!

Every year our school hosts 1 major event.
Last year that event was production and this year it is... Camp!
Guess what?!
We leave for Mt Ruapehu for camp tomorrow!
We will be away from our parents for 3 nights and 4 days!
I feel a little bit nervous but mostly excited!
This will be my first time skiing so I can't wait to get up the mountain!
We had the choice of going skiing or snowboarding and since snowboarding is meant to be considerably harder I chose skiing.
We have to be at the school by 7:30 in the morning so the bus can leave at 8:00.
I think that the hardest part of the trip will be learning how to ski because I have never skied before and it will be an interesting experience learning how to ski on the mountain.
I think when I get back I will be confident and tired but mainly happy just to get home.
I will be doing a blog about the camp when I get back!

Holiday Narratives

Hey there bloggers!
For the last 2 or 3 weeks we have been writing a narrative about our holidays.
I know that doesn't seem very exciting but we got to exaggerate what happened.
For a lot of us exaggerate meant write something that didn't happen at all, such as the ground cracking open or being in a car crash.
We had to pick a bit of our holiday to write about then exaggerate it.
We used all the same people that were there with us on the holiday but different names, for example if your mum was named Susan then your mum might be named Jennifer in your narrative.
My story was based on the time in Malaysia when the GPS told us to turn down a one-way road and when we turned all the other cars were facing us.
Here is a paragraph of my narrative:

My favourite part was probably being able to exaggerate everything because if I wrote what really happened we just backed out of the road, and no one wants to read about that!

Squash

Hey there bloggers!
Every term at our school we are lucky enough to try out a new sport or activity.
This term our sport is...

SQUASH!
Squash is a game very similar to tennis, they both use a racket and a ball except the ball is really small and made of rubber.
We all got to try playing with our partner. The highest score for biggest rally in our class was 22.
This is what a Squash court looks like:
We played on a court smaller and not as high.
2 people stand on the same side of the wall and they have to hit the ball at the wall making it bounce to their opponent.
The top line is called the outer line, if you hit over it you are out.
The middle line is called the serving line, when the ball is served the ball has to hit above the serving line then after that you can hit anywhere in between the bottom and top line.
The bottom line is called the tin line, if you hit below hit you are out.
