Climate Change March

Hi there bloggers!
On Friday the 15th of March me and my friend Noah (check out his blog here
went on the Climate Change March to support student action on climate change.
We saw lots of cool signs on the day and even one that said fossil fools complete with pictures of Donald Trump! My sign said: I want a future! Act on climate change now!
Unfortunately some supporters needed reminding that there were kids from primary school's because there were quite a few rude signs. We arrived at about 11am and started marching at about 1pm.
Here are some pictures from the day.

That last picture was taken from the 2nd floor on a Double Decker bus.
The day was pretty cool but it was really hot by the end of the march. There was a statue in the middle of the rallying point with his hand pointing up and some people tied a big sign to his arm to make him look like he was protesting. I think that there will be more marches until the world understands the importance of acting on climate change. If there is another protest in my area I will be protesting!

Getting to know you

Hey bloggers!
Welcome to my first post of 2019!
We have all been making getting to know you forms to get to know everyone in our learning environment a bit better. My GTKY includes subjects like what I like, who my friends are, what I don't like and my family background.
Take a look!
Here are some things I like:
I like basketball and play it every Thursday for the Auckland Central Cougars.
I like reading (a lot!) and try to read for at least 1 hour a day.
My favourite thing to do in my free time is play Fortnite (A video game made by epic games).
Here are some things that I don't like:
I used to play the violin but I had a teacher that was more used to teaching teenagers then kids like me and I didn't learn much, after that I had another teacher but by then I already disliked the violin so I quit and started playing the piano.
I don't like fast maths because I'm not good at keeping up with the numbers.
I like sports but apart from basketball and football I hate playing competitively unless it's with my friends.
Thank you for reading my first blog post of 2019!

Summer Learning Journey: Week 1, Activity 1

Hi guys!
Today is the first day of the Summer learning journey.
We have to find 3 interesting facts about New Zealand from the Tourism NZ website.

Fact No. 1
Dairy farmers produce 100 kg of butter and 65 kg of cheese each year for each person living in NZ

Fact No. 2
30% of NZ is covered in forest!

Fact No. 3
NZ is part of the Pacific Rim of Fire and its most active volcano is Mt Ruapehu

Those are my 3 Facts on NZ.

Christmas Mufti

Hi bloggers!
Last Friday our school had a mufti day where we could come to school in Christmas themed clothes. I came to school in a Santa hat and a Christmas sweater. Half the school came in Santa hats! It was a bit warm to wear my Christmas sweater in summer though.

We didn't do much Christmas themed things but we did jump jam in our costumes though. The Christmas Mufti was to raise for Christmas hampers for people.

Gymnastics

Bonjour bloggers!
For the last 2 weeks our school has been walking down to Tristar at Keith hay park. At Tristar we were sorted into groups with different coaches. My groups coach was named coach Moe. At Tristar we were able to use the sponge pit, bounce on trampolines and walk on balance beams. We also had gymnastics sessions in the school hall with coach Misha. In the hall we didn't get to do fun stuff with big mattresses because they couldn't bring them but it was still fun. My favourite bit from being down at Tristar was probably the foam pit or the trampolines.
Here are some pictures from Tristar

Unfortunately there weren't many pictures from Wednesday.
There was one thing I didn't really like where you had to flip over a bar and land on your feet. I didn't like it because you could feel the blood rushing to your head and it felt really weird.

Summer Learning Journey

Hi bloggers!
We are practising for the 2018 - 2019 Summer learning journey.
I would want to go to Malaysia because I am part Malaysian and my Mum's parents live there. Also they have the best dessert in the world...
Cendol!!!
(Cendol is ice, coconut milk and flour jelly and palm syrup. You can also add red beans if you want)
Malaysia is the 2nd biggest producers of refined tin!
Malaysia is home to the biggest tropical tree in the world named the Tualang which has a base diameter of over 10 feet! It also reaches the height of around 262 feet!
Malaysians keep watch over a body before it is burie
d because if a cat jumps over the coffin the corpse will come back as a ghoul!

Production rehearsals

Ola bloggers!
Last term we were told our roles in the production.
The production is named Pasifika Peter Pan. It's named Pasifika Peter Pan because we have a Pacific twist. For example now we include stuff like Samoa and Tonga.
My part isn't that big so in rehearsal I spend a lot of time watching. The production is quite good but it gets a bit boring after a while. Sometimes I spot a few logistical errors but apart from that I think the production is great!
Overall I enjoy rehearsals and I'm feeling pretty confident for the production if not a little nervous.
So those are my thoughts for the production.
